When I think about my future I always create this certain kind of picture in my mind. Some things are planned down to the last detail and somethings are just a rough imagination. I think it is just an ordinary dream of every young girl. I am 18 years old; I just finished school and I hope now to fulfil everyone’s and mine expectations. Since I was eight years old I wanted to become a doctor – and I still want to make this dream come true. In my imagination I want to be become a doctor for children, a paediatrician. I would like to have this job because I have three younger siblings and because I am working as a voluntary youth leader in my free time. So at least I hope I can say I have a little bit of experience when it comes to dealing with children.
That is one part of my future; another one is to learn and speak another language fluently.
Maybe this is one of the reasons why I am staying here in Camphill. My decision to come to this Camphill community wasn’t only to learn how to speak English fluently. My decision was influenced by the wish to live a year independently in a foreign country where I could make a lot of new friends, have new experiences and meet a lot of interesting people with different nationalities.
My first plan was to finish this year and then to start studying medicine in Germany, but now I am thinking about staying a second year at Camphill. My imagination is going even “crazier” as right now I am thinking about studying here at a university. So at the end of this unfinished story is that since I have come here I am getting more and more confused about what I shall do in the future. But maybe this is called life
